All guests will love not only the look, but also the taste of the cake. From the photo it may seem that the dessert will be difficult to make, but in fact everything is very simple.
Required ingredients:
- granulated sugar – 300 grams (150 grams for dough and 150 grams for cream);
- half a glass of water;
- a pinch of vanilla sugar;
- 100 grams of flour;
- chicken eggs – 4 pieces;
- yolk – 3 pieces;
- a stick of butter;
- food coloring of different colors;
- chocolate covered cookies - 1 piece;
- half a bar of dark chocolate;
- syrup for impregnation;
- coconut flakes;
- toffee.
Preparation:
First of all, let's make the base layer for the cake. To do this, you need to knead the biscuit dough. Chicken eggs must be beaten, separating the yolks from the whites. They must be beaten separately from each other.
Divide the sugar into two equal parts. We send one portion to the yolks, and the second to the whites. Continue beating both mixtures until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Next, add a third of the protein mass to the beaten yolks and mix. Pour the sifted flour into the egg mixture. Then add the rest of the proteins and mix carefully again. Grease the baking dish with oil and dust with flour (remove the excess). Then pour the dough into the mold, filling 2/3 of it. When kneading the dough correctly, the cake should increase in size. Place the pan in the oven for half an hour. Cool the finished cake and remove it from the mold.
Now let's start preparing the buttercream. To do this, you need to combine water and sugar. Then place the cup on the fire and wait until the sugar is completely dissolved. Stir and remove from heat. This is how easy and simple it is to prepare the syrup.
Take three yolks and beat them. Pour in the syrup and continue beating with the mixer. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and combine with the egg-sugar mixture. Beat until a homogeneous consistency is obtained.
Separate half the cream and add yellow food coloring. Grease the cake and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour. Then cover the cake with cream again and smooth the entire surface. We put it back in the refrigerator. The remainder of the cream should be divided into two parts. We set one aside for now, and paint the second with blue dye. We apply it to the cake, form a jumpsuit, and close the joint with a strip of melted chocolate. If desired, you can use a syringe to make a contour of liquid chocolate around the entire perimeter. We put the children's cake with minions in the refrigerator.
Now we make the eyes of our “hero”. To do this, cover round chocolate cookies with white cream. You can use candies (chocolate from boxes) as the pupil. Cut out a circle from the toffee, coat it with syrup and crush it with coconut flakes or silver-colored sugar. We install the eye and glasses in the right place.
Using melted chocolate through a syringe, draw a string for glasses and a mouth. You also need to make hair for a cartoon character. Using chocolate candies we make buttons on the minion's overalls. The children's cake “Minions” is ready.
Minion Cake
Children's "Minions" cakes will delight kids, especially fans of the cartoon "Despicable Me." You can make any cake you want. It's all about the decor. The dessert is decorated accordingly, and this can be done very simply. Let's start cooking.

- butter cream – 700 grams;
- round cookies - 2 pieces;
- 100 grams of chocolate;
- food coloring – 2 pieces;

Preparation:
- First you need to bake sponge cakes. They can be anything: chocolate, with nuts or regular. If desired, you can make shortbread cakes. Children love them so much because they melt in the mouth and crumble easily.
- We coat the cakes with cream and cut out the minion shape we need.
- Coat the top of the finished cake with butter cream with the addition of yellow dye. To create a jumpsuit for a cartoon character, you need to add blue dye to the buttercream.
- Now let's make the eyes. We take any round-shaped cookies. Cover it with cream and attach a pupil made of chocolate candy.
- Next, we make a hoop for our glasses from mastic or toffee and sprinkle it with silver sprinkles. The hoop should be slightly larger than the eye.
- Melt a chocolate bar and draw hairs on parchment, then put it in the refrigerator. Once frozen, we insert it into the head. We finish drawing the strap for the glasses and separate the panties from the body, highlighting the outline. DIY “Minion” cake is ready step by step. Bon appetit!
Cakes with minions have been loved by children in many families since the release of the cartoon “Despicable Me”. Mothers immediately began to fantasize about how to make their child happy. And they came up with the idea of decorating cakes with cartoon characters. Minions can be made in different ways. Either cut out the desired shape from the cakes and continue decorating, or make a standing minion. It is the second option that we will now consider.
Required Products:
- 700 grams of mastic;
- sponge cakes - 9 pieces;
- cream (650 ml custard, 300 butter).
Preparation:
- The first step is to prepare the sponge cakes. This can be done using any recipe you like. The method for preparing the cakes is described in detail in the first recipe.
- If you have one mold, you can make two more yourself. This will make the cooking process faster. The molds are made simply from foil with a diameter of 16 cm.
- In the meantime, let's prepare the cream. For custard you will need 8 yolks and 2 tablespoons of flour. Stir well and pour in half a liter of cold cream.
- Place everything in a water bath and stir. Cook until thickened. Cool the finished cream and add 250 grams of butter. Beat everything well.
- We collect the cake. Place the first cake layer and place a wooden skewer in the center. Next we string the remaining cakes. We coat each tier with cream. Wrap the cake in cling film and place in the refrigerator until set.
- Now we round the top and cut off the bottom so that the shape looks like a minion. Coat the entire surface with cream and put it in the refrigerator.
- We take yellow mastic and wrap our figure.
- Let's start decorating. Roll 2 sausages and leave to dry. The mastic can be colored with gray (food coloring) and the glasses can be cut out.
- Take blue mastic. These will be the minion's pants. We make “seams” along the edge using a fork. From the same blue mastic we make the back and breast. That is, it should be a jumpsuit. Don't forget the straps.
- Attach the handles. The joint can be secured with a toothpick. We cut out eyes from white fondant and make pupils (candies will do). You can make buttons from them. We also make a strap for glasses from mastic, but we paint it black. In general, all decorative elements are made from mastic; only if necessary, it is painted with food coloring of the desired color. Place the minion on the dish. Our cartoon cake is ready!
Dilute the gelatin with cold water and leave for a few minutes to swell. Then bring it until smooth, or microwave.
Heat the honey in a water bath (or in the microwave) and mix with the gelatin mass. Mix thoroughly and leave the mixture to cool slightly.
Sift the powdered sugar. Add in small portions to the liquid mixture and mix well so that no sugar lumps form.
When the sugar mass is difficult to stir with a spoon, transfer the batch to a work surface sprinkled with powdered sugar. The mastic is ready when it no longer sticks too much to your hands, but is still soft.
When the mastic sits for a while, it will become harder. Therefore, you should not add a lot of powdered sugar to make its consistency denser.
Place the finished sweet mass in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to “rest.”
Using food coloring, color the sugar mastic in the desired shades and place it back in the plastic bag. At this stage you will need to add a little more powdered sugar.
How to make a minion
You can start sculpting minions. Roll a ball out of yellow mastic, then form an oval - this is the body.
You can immediately make a torso for all minions.
To prevent this part from changing its shape in the future (not spreading in your hands), it needs to be set aside for a few minutes (5-10) so that it hardens a little.
Roll out a small piece of blue tint into a layer 2-4 mm thick. The work surface must be dusted with powdered sugar. Cut out a rectangle that matches the size of the torso - this is the part of the panties. Using a stack (or toothpick) imitate stitching along the edge of the part.
Glue the resulting part to the body. To make it easier to stick the figure into the cake (for stability), insert a toothpick at the bottom of the base. Half of the toothpick should come out. When sculpting, use a foam frame wrapped in cling film. Cut out two blanks for the sides of the panties, also simulating a seam along the edge.
Glue these blanks to the main figure, leaving a free edge in the central part - an “open pocket”.
Roll out two identical flagella from a piece of yellow color - these are hands. Flatten the upper part a little so that the joint does not stand out in the future.
Glue the resulting parts to the main minion figure.
Roll out the blue mastic mixture into a layer and cut out blanks for the front pocket and panty straps. Imitate the stitching with a toothpick or tool.
Also glue the resulting parts to the body.
Roll two white polka dots for the eyes. Flatten them a little and glue them to the figure.
For glasses, roll two larger peas, flatten them and cut out the middle to form two rings - this is the frame of the glasses.
Glue the resulting blanks to the base, framing the eyes.
Also, use black mastic to make glasses ears - small flagella. Glue black microscopic peas in the center of the eyes and flatten them a little. Make a mouth for the minion (press it with a tool, imitating a smile) and a protruding tongue from a small piece of pink.
Make gloves and black shoes: roll out oval blanks and glue them to the main figure.
Decorate the minions with hair. Imitate “hairs” from thin black flagella and glue. Sculpt other figures in the same way. Leave the finished figures in a dry room to dry. They will become firmer and will be easier to “plant” on the cake.
I hope I explained well and showed in this master class how to sculpt mastic figures with your own hands. Decorate your birthday cake with these sweet products as you wish.

One of the first points is the ability to sculpt from mastic. If you can sculpt a minion from mastic, then you can make a cake with a minion from mastic, or decorated with mastic in the form of a Minion. This hero has an oval body and a face, arms and legs. Made mainly in two colors: yellow and blue mastic. Different elements are made from mastic of a different color if the Minion is wearing something on his head or holding something in his hands.
